We are celebrating National Young People's Poetry Week with Award-Winning Author/Illustrator Lauren Stringer

The Lakeshore Excellence Foundation is thrilled to be bringing nationally known author/illustrator Lauren Stringer to Hollywood, Roosevelt, and Stewart Elementary as well as to the Lincoln Township Public Library.

Ms. Stringer will provide an interactive assembly for all 1st - 5th grade students. With slides, story-boards, sketches, and music she will offer entertaining insight into children's book illustration.

Each 5th grade class will have a hands-on workshop with Ms. Stringer. Students will create a small book and illustrate a poem that they have written.

All students and their families are welcome to "Meet the Author/Illustrator" from 3:20 to 4:30 P.M. in the Media Center on the day she visits your school. Ms. Stringer's books will be available for sale, which she will be happy to autograph for you.
